Usage Policy

This Usage Policy applies to Direct Inference and related products, APIs, websites, and services provided by Synthetic Brain Labs, Inc.

Effective: June 23, 2026.

This Usage Policy applies to all users of the Service, whether acting for themselves or on behalf of another person, company, organization, or other entity (collectively, "you"). "You" includes both the person using the Service and any entity that person represents. This Usage Policy governs how you may submit Input to, receive and use Output from, and otherwise access, use, or interact with the Service.

Synthetic Brain Labs, Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") maintains this Usage Policy to help operate the Service responsibly and promote safe, lawful, and appropriate use. This Usage Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this Usage Policy.

Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service. We may update this Usage Policy from time to time in response to changes in law, technology, the Service, business needs, or safety considerations. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the then-current Usage Policy.

Protection of Personal Privacy and Restrictions on Profiling

You may not use the Service in a way that violates privacy, data protection, publicity, or personal information rights. You are responsible for having a lawful basis and all required notices, permissions, and consents for the data you submit or use.

Unauthorized collection and use of data

  • Collecting, analyzing, using, disclosing, selling, sharing, re-identifying, or inferring personal, private, confidential, biometric, financial, health, location, communications, or sensitive information without lawful authority and valid consent where required.

Identification and impersonation

  • Building or using facial recognition, biometric identification, voiceprint, or similar identification databases without authorization.
  • Performing real-time remote biometric identification in public spaces, workplaces, schools, or similar environments without a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.
  • Generating or distributing content using a person's name, image, likeness, voice, signature, identity, or other identifying traits in a way that could mislead others about who created, approved, participated in, or is depicted in the content.

Evaluation, inference, and profiling

  • Evaluating, ranking, classifying, scoring, or profiling individuals based on behavior, personal characteristics, biometric data, sensitive attributes, or inferred traits in a way that is unlawful, discriminatory, deceptive, or materially harmful.
  • Inferring emotions, mental states, health status, protected traits, vulnerability, or similar characteristics in employment, education, housing, credit, insurance, healthcare, legal, or other high-impact settings without a lawful basis and appropriate human oversight.
  • Predicting criminality, security risk, recidivism, dangerousness, or similar outcomes based solely or primarily on personal attributes, inferred traits, biometric data, or profiling results.

Protection of Minors

You may not use, direct, support, or allow anyone else to use the Service to exploit, endanger, manipulate, or inappropriately interact with minors.

Exploitation and improper use of minors' information or images

  • Creating, acquiring, transforming, storing, soliciting, or distributing child sexual abuse material or any sexualized content involving, depicting, describing, or targeting minors, whether real, fictional, partially synthetic, or fully AI-generated.
  • Grooming, sexual solicitation, coercion, extortion, manipulation, exploitative relationship-building, or collecting or using minors' information in violation of law, consent requirements, school rules, platform rules, or reasonable expectations of safety and privacy.

Provision of inappropriate content

  • Presenting, recommending, or enabling minors to access sexual, violent, exploitative, self-harm, substance-use, deceptive, manipulative, predatory, or otherwise age-inappropriate content or experiences.

Impact on health and safety

  • Encouraging or instructing minors to engage in dangerous challenges, risky physical activity, unsafe dieting, substance use, evasion of guardians, or other conduct likely to harm their physical or mental health.
  • Causing, facilitating, or encouraging sexual activity, sexual role-play, violent role-play, or exploitative interactions involving minors.

Infringement of personal dignity

  • Bullying, humiliating, ridiculing, defaming, insulting, or unfairly evaluating a minor's appearance, body, disability, identity, personality, family, performance, or personal circumstances.
  • Creating or distributing content that targets minors for harassment, exclusion, manipulation, discrimination, intimidation, or reputational harm.

Prohibited access

  • Assisting minors in accessing the Service or any other product, service, activity, or content when that access is prohibited by our Terms of Service, applicable law, or other age or consent restrictions.

Fairness and Respect for Decision-Making

You may not use the Service to distort public decision-making, undermine individual autonomy, or replace required human responsibility in high-impact domains.

Undermining the reliability of information

  • Creating, amplifying, or distributing false, deceptive, or misleading information, including impersonation, fraudulent communications, scams, synthetic media presented as authentic, or content designed to exploit trust.
  • Concealing or misrepresenting AI-generated Output where disclosure is required by law, regulation, platform rule, professional obligation, or the surrounding context.

Interference with democratic and social processes

  • Improperly influencing, suppressing, manipulating, or interfering with elections, voting, civic participation, political processes, public consultations, or democratic institutions, including targeting people based on sensitive attributes, inferred vulnerabilities, or profiling results.

Automation in high-risk domains

  • Making or materially automating consequential decisions without appropriate qualified human involvement in areas such as education, employment, housing, finance or credit, insurance, healthcare, legal services, social services, public benefits, product safety, immigration, law enforcement, criminal justice, national security, or critical infrastructure.
  • Using Output as the sole basis for eligibility, access, pricing, disciplinary, enforcement, safety, or rights-affecting decisions in high-impact contexts.

Undermining public trust

  • Using the Service to improperly restrict freedom of expression, access to information, or lawful public participation, including arbitrary censorship or coordinated suppression.
  • Compromising the fairness, integrity, or reliability of systems that depend on public trust, including examinations, journalism, scientific publication, public records, professional credentials, audits, or certification processes.
  • Failing to disclose that Output is AI-generated when such disclosure is required by applicable law, regulation, platform policy, professional rule, or the circumstances in which the Output is used.
